Ready for Spring ~Mae Flowers

Hi all!

February already, and I'm already thinking about new leaves growing on the trees. I'm very ready for spring! Even though it doesn't technically start until the end of next month. >_<

I got the chance to sew with Lindsay Wilke's ( the Cottage Mama's) newest fabric line Mae Flowers. If you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen that she and I were booth partners at last year's Quilt Market in Houston. It was fun to see the fabric all prettied up in our booth in person, and way more fun when I finally got to sew with it!

My booth is ready for @quiltmarket featuring my next collection for @pennyrosefabrics @rileyblakedesigns called Mae Flowers. Show starts tomorrow and I’ll be in the Riley Blake booth #1705. If you are attending the show, please stop by and say hello! #rileyblake

@cloverusa mini clips are perfect for mini quilts 😉 I’m sewing with @thecottagemama’s newest fabric line #maeflowersfabric and a little bit of @rileyblakedesigns solids. • #fabric #quilt #dollquilt #sew #sewing #miniquilt #rileyblakedesigns #iloverileyblake #pennyrosefabrics #notions #cloverclips A post shared by Lauren Nash (@transientart) on Jan 29, 2018 at 5:03pm PST

I ended up making this little doll quilt with a bright happy yellow solid that Riley Blake so perfectly named, daffodil.

Aren't those girls with the umbrellas darling?? I was very inspired by this quilt here and loved the feeling it gave off. I did want to sew this larger than a doll size originally, but have been super tight on time. On that note, I'll let you in on our big life change, we're moving back to Colorado! Which you know means lots of packing and other moving related headaches that no one wants to deal with. Sooo, I'm happier to have finished this little doll quilt, even if it didn't end up a lap size quilt as I had intended. (well...lap size for the doll!) ^_^

More exciting news, my second fabric line, Bunnies and Blossoms, is due to arrive in stores next month! This was the fabric that I showed alongside Lindsay's Mae Flowers at Market. ;) I'm hoping during the move that I'll be able to get a nice extra large room with lots and lots of sunlight for sewing, painting, and drawing. *crosses fingers and dreams* I will try and post more often and as much as I can during the next couple of months! <3

Always,
