Sweetie Pie Sew Along

Hi all!

This week it's my stop on the Sweetie Pie Sew Along!  You can follow along and use Lori Holt's free pattern here, and get the pie ruler and shapes in her Etsy shop. There's even a helpful video tutorial to really get you going.

Dresden plates, more cutely called pie slices here ;) , are a really fast sew. Plus, making the appliqué pieces using interfacing is also an easy way to get those perfect shapes.

I used Lori's  Sew Cherry 2 fabric for my block, it's so bright, summery, and cheery. Our Lyla recently upgraded to a big girl's bed. So, I ended up turning my block into a quilted pillow to go on it just because I really wanted to use what I'd sewn right now.

I chose the lemon to depart from the strawberries that normally dominate in my fabric choices. I do love my strawberries!

Some bright blue polka dots to go on the back to add a fun pop ,and some simple free-motion quilting for a little texture. And overall, it's made a fun addition to my little girl's bedroom. Check out Anorina of Samelia's Mum next Monday for the next block!

Always,
