I've Got a New Camera!
I'm super excited because I now have a Canon 60D! =D I plan to use it for both photography & videos. Even though a camera like a Sony EX1 *drools* sounds wonderful, it's quite pricey. I chose this camera because of duality in mediums I wanted. I figured it'd be perfect for blogging and YouTube videos.
This is an upgrade from my first DSLR, a Canon T1i that was equipped with the default factory lens, an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens. The new lens I have is an EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM. Granted the focal length is nearly the same (I'll keep saving up for a good macro and maybe a telephoto lens to take pictures of crows for one day!) It's a nice standard zoom lens that lets in about twice the light. I liked this factor for recording video as well. The lens hood didn't come with it, which sucked for such an expensive lens. ಠ_ಠ Boo.
My favorite part, like many others who have used this camera, is the flip out screen. It's extremely versatile in my opinion, I take the camera everywhere and I can get all these new shots. My husband made sure I got an AC adapter kit for my extended photography and video shoots. I like using the Canon Utility software that came with the camera so I can watch live video on my computer while recording. When self recording this is a big plus since I have to focus manually.
We've been saving up for a good while. I'm just so excited, happy, and joyful :) . I the camera and can't wait to break it in.
