Bunnies & Cream Blog Tour

Hey guys! Welcome to the last stop of the Bunnies & Cream Blog Tour!

It's day 6, and the final day of the blog hop. I've had so much fun looking at all of the projects made through out the week by my sewist friends.

So, if you haven't seen Bunnies & Cream yet, it's brand new and my very first fabric line with Penny Rose Fabrics. I pictured making little girl's clothes out of it, aprons, springy things for the house, and definitely wanted to fussy cut with it. It's made me ridiculously happy seeing such positive feedback about it too! I've been staring at it for a good year now, and to see you guys get excited about it just makes my heart warm. I like the idea of someone seeing it and it makes them smile, makes them happy when they sew with it, or maybe snuggle with it as a quilt. ;) It's kind of similar to my art, my old paintings and drawing I admit I haven't dabbled in a long time now. I wanted my art to make someone feel and affect their day. I hope designing fabric can do a bit of that too.

Here we have...the romper. This one has quite poofy bottoms! Lyla can get away with that though, being little and can make big bloomers look stinkin' cute. I changed up a pattern (Simplicity 9275) that my mom gave me to have a different top. She made quite a few outfits out of that pattern, some of the outfits Lyla's worn already too. =) It looks cute with a little blouse with puffed sleeves underneath too, or a Feltman Brothers sweater in a pale pink.

Barrettes are fairly easy to make, I plan to make more out of all of the other fabrics. A girl needs choices.

A walk to the mailbox and park turned into flower picking, then a cranky girl who was ready for a nap the moment we got home.

I played around in my sketchbook to come up with an embroidery design that would extend off of Bunnies & Cream. I love vintage style embroidery, especially those tea towel, the colors, the fun feel. I tried to emulate that with this pillow. It's bordered with a bright mint green sashing and small pinwheels, and ruffles of course. Also, this pillow is a pattern you can get here in my Etsy shop. ;)

On the back, a tag, just as a fun detail.

Next, I love how this dress came out. I used Simplicity pattern #8691. I tried to get a picture of just the dress, but she got mad at me and wasn't having it, the dress stays on, Mom! Didn't think that one through!

I lengthened the dress and added 3 pin tucks and rick rack on the collar. Vintage patterns usually make extremely short girls dresses as that was the style back then.

This was a make from the Happy Flower Quilts blog hop made with Bunnies & Cream.

Now onto all the projects made from the ladies in the line-up!

Day 1: Faith Essenburg of Sarana Ave

Faith started of the tour with not one but two perfect quilts. I love the simple 9 patch she chose with the bigger blocks and especially the sweet sweet touch of hand quilting. I think it really shows the love that she put into it. =) A doll quilt with fussy cut patch work, lace, and gingham binding too, win! Love it. Click here to see more pictures and close up shots of that hand quilting.

Day 2: Bridgette of The Family Hearth

Bridgette seemed to magically know that I hoped an apron would get made! My oldest son is into cooking right now, so I've sewn a boy apron. I'll have to wait a few years before I can make a more girly apron. ;) There's an April Showers bunny mini quilt, and even a little fabric basket.  Click here to see more of her cute projects in her post.

Day 3: Elea of Elea Lutz Design

Fellow Penny Rose fabric designer Elea brought Spring in to her house with this little house. Baby bibs with Peter Pan collars, and free printables too! Elea makes some super cute fabric, and patterns too.

Day 4: Taunja of Carried Away Quilting

Taunja was super excited to be working with Bunnies & Cream! And I was very glad to have her apart of the blog hop! She even made a pattern called Shoofly Crossings, which is available on her site, just to showcase the main print and show all of that bunny goodness. There's an hourglass quilt, and this pillow with Lori Holt's scrappy hearts. I like the little buttons on there.

Day 5: Veronica of Vivid Felicity

Man am I loving these houses! Seriously. Veronica made two projects with houses on them. I'm thinking I really need to sew a house now...^_^ This one I just adooore, aah!  Click here to see more pictures, and the lovely little doll quilt covered with even more houses!

And there you have it, a week filled with pastels, strawberries, and a bunny family. I hope it inspires your spring sewing, I know I'm up for more!

Also, I absolutely love seeing the stuff you guys make and create! If you make anything with Bunnies & Cream be sure to tag it with #bunniesandcreamfabric on Instagram  or post it to my Facebook page. :D

Always,

Lauren
